Scouting Activities at Cantigny
Citizenship
Set off on a guided tour through the First Division Museum to discover what makes America special. Join a scavenger hunt through the tank park, learn how to fly the American flag, and play games to learn about citizenship. Write letters about what you learned to soldiers currently serving in the 1st Infantry Division about what you’ve learned. For reservations or more information contact Melissa Neumann, 630.260.8274.

First Division Basic Training Day
Head off for basic training at the Cantigny First Division Museum. This afternoon of physical activities will strengthen each scout’s teamwork and leadership skills. New skills will be put to the test through the First Division obstacle course. Be prepared to get dirty. Weather permitting.

Outdoor Cooking at Cantigny
Fan the flames and fix outdoor cuisine at Cantigny Park. Prepare and enjoy lunch outdoors using a campfire, camp stove, and other cooking methods. Learn about changes in soldiers’ rations and a few tips for water purification

Try on military uniforms and equipment from a variety of eras using the museum’s education collection artifacts and reporoductions. Finally, join a scavenger hunt for information through the tank park. No reservations needed.

Listening to the Past: Girls Make History
Your tour through the First Division Museum will tell the story of the heroic women that helped to build our nation and kept it free. Interact with our education collection to touch the equipment and try on the clothes of these women. Decorate your own hair bandana for home front factory work and play games from a variety of time periods.
