Jim Willbanks historian and author of The Tet Offensive: A Concise History, MG(Ret) Creighton, LTG(Ret) Grange and Scott Forsythe of the Tet Offensive will share their experiences and perspectives on the attacks. James H. Willbanks is director, Department of Military History, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with twenty-three years service as an Infantry officer in various assignments, including a tour as an advisor in Vietnam. Major General Neal Creighton proved his combat leadership and physical courage as commander of the 3rd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, in seven battles during the Tet Offensive of 1968, and later commanded the 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized). General Grange is a veteran of 20 campaigns in three wars as an infantryman and served with distinction throughout in the U.S. Army. In 1967 he commanded the 2nd Battalion (Airborne), 506th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He returned to Vietnam for his third tour in 1970 where he commanded the 101st Support Command and the 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. General Grange's service to the nation as a soldier, leader, and U.S. Army Ranger reflects his intense dedication and motivation. Scott Forysthe was a communications intelligence analyst with the 337th Radio Research Company during the Tet Offensive, which was attached to the 1st ID, and stationed at Di An, where the division support command was based. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Tet Offensive.
