From a quilt made during a tour in Iraq to a Medal of Honor earned in World War I, the First Division Museum prides itself on its rare artifact collection. We rely on the generosity of veterans, families and friends to donate objects that bring to life the history and stories of the men and women who served with the 1st Infantry Division. The museum tells this story through its outstanding collection, representing the division’s culture, both personal (uniforms, awards, mementos) and institutional (tanks, running vehicles, weapons). The museum’s collection represents the full range of a soldier’s experience and military functions, including:
- Medals of Honor and other awards for valor and service
- Posters from World War I and World War II
- Historic military weapons, vehicles and artillery
- Tanks dating from World War I to the present
- Flags, regimental colors and battle streamers
- Paintings by notable artists such as John Doctoroff and Henri Farre
- Uniforms and equipment
