Scope of Collection

General George A. Taylor papers are compiled of mainly field orders, training materials, unit histories and intelligence reports from his experiences in North Africa, Sicily, France, and Germany. The collection also includes 1st Division SOPs and directives that hold valuable lessons learned and advised tactical and equipment adaptations demonstrating the evolution of the American Armies war fighting capabilities in the European Theater during World War II. The papers also contain his own writings on leadership, tactics, and other observations of the actions of American Infantry in World War II.
