May 28, 1918: The first American victory against the Germans occurs when the First Division captures the village of Cantigny.

July, 1918: The First Division participates in the Battle of Soissons.

September, 1918: The First Division participates in the Battle of St. Mihiel.

October, 1918: The First Division participates in the Battle of the Meuse-Argonne.

November, 1918: The First Division plays a role in the Sedan Operation.

November 11, 1918: An Armistice is declared, thereby ceasing all hostilities on the Western Front.
