Cpl. Alfred S. Buhl

“September 3rd, 1919. Today we arrived in N.J.
after a long trip on the ocean. After unloading we were sent to Camp Merret. September 6th. Was given a 24 hour pass to New York City. Took car to China Town & Coney Island. September 10th. We paraded in New York. September 17th. We paraded in Washington D.C. September 25th. Received my discharge from service of the U.S. Army and arrived in Chicago same night.”
