Signal Flags

These cotton signaling flags were used by Signal Corps personnel and common soldiers alike to relay various messages across the battlefields of WWI. Signal flags were used to communicate with ground and air forces during the daytime. A standard code was utilized in which various gestures (made with the flags) equated to specific commands and messages.
